Integrity Fencing staff were interviewed on the Denver7 segment “Mile High Living” in March, 2023. This segment of Denver7 news is a local lifestyle and business show that helps Coloradans connect to a variety of businesses within the community. Shawn Beard, owner of Integrity Fencing, Melissa Arain, Sales Manager, and Gabriel Abeyta, Fence Consultant, spoke to Denver7 about the services Integrity Fencing offers, as well as what sets them apart from the competition.
“Our values (have led to our success),” said Melissa Arain. “We want to do things differently than your standard general contractor. We want to bring our values and ethics, and that’s the reason we named the company Integrity. We want you to walk away (from a finished project) knowing that we have integrity in what we sell and we stand behind it.”
The supply chain issues that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic were mentioned and owner Shawn Beard spoke to how his company was able to work around these issues and find a solution. “Due to COVID, we had to find other supply chains,” said Shawn. “So, we started working with mills out of Canada and we’ve become a supplier ourselves. Everything in our supply yard is appearance grade wood that we get directly from the mills, so we are able to pass this savings onto our customers. We sell cedar at about 20% less cost than anybody else.”

“We pride ourselves in the materials that we use,” said Gabriel Abeyta. “We use stainless steel picketing nails, and with those nails you will not see any rust marks running down your beautiful fence. And we use appearance grade western red cedar for our wooden fences.”

0:09
your company is in need of a
0:10
new fence, offense
0:11
construction or custom gate,
0:12
we have just the company for
0:16
you. They offer excellent
0:16
customer service, quality
0:17
materials, an outstanding
0:20
craftsmanship who other than
0:21
integrity, fencing in supply
0:22
company. And guess what? We’ve
0:23
got them joining us today.
0:23
we’ve got sean listen, gabriel
0:27
to tell us all about what they
0:28
can do for us. This is perfect
0:29
timing. We want to get out nor
0:30
yards. We’re looking at all
0:31
the things that we need, don,
0:32
and we appreciate you being
0:35
here. Talk about integrity,
0:36
fencing. First of all, guy’s
0:37
been around.
0:38
>> we just celebrated 3 years
0:39
a week ago, 3 years. That’s
0:41
wonderful. In addition to all
0:46
of that, how did you guys
0:47
decide that this was really
0:47
what you wanted to do?
0:48
fencing? I mean, this is
0:49
something a lot of people
0:49
almost like when the driver
0:50
down streets, you can kind of
0:51
see that was really nice. Some
0:54
not so nice, right? You guys
0:56
decided to go ahead and put
0:57
the nice and all of that. So
0:58
what made you decide to start
1:03
this?
1:03
>> you know, i’ve worked at
1:04
the small companies that work
1:05
at the big fence companies.
1:05
and i just decided that we can
1:06
do this a little bit better.
1:09
and so our goal is to we know
1:10
that are our competitions.
1:12
sometimes hard to deal with
1:13
and we wanted to be different.
1:17
>> i like that. You guys are
1:18
very successful. We’re looking
1:19
at some beautiful pictures of
1:21
some work that you guys have.
1:22
don talk about. What you think
1:22
is really led to your success.
1:23
>> melissa have about i was
1:28
here that our we wanted to do
1:29
everything a little bit
1:29
different than your standard.
1:31
general contractor. We want
1:35
bring out our values ethics.
1:36
and that’s the reason why we
1:38
need the company integrity is
1:39
we want you to walk away
1:41
knowing that we have integrity
1:41
by what we install and we
1:42
stand behind it.
1:47
>> that’s a great way to put
1:47
it in. Your name does actually
1:48
say that which is so good as
1:52
well. When we talk about doing
1:52
something differently, that’s
1:53
what you at not doing
1:54
something different than other
1:55
fencing company is. What would
1:55
you say really? Is that that
1:58
really hits that home? Run for
1:59
you guys? What is it that you
1:59
guys do differently? Gabriel?
2:01
>> you know. What we do
2:05
differently is honestly, we
2:06
pride ourselves in the
2:07
materials that we use. We use
2:11
a stainless still picketing
2:12
now. So basically with those
2:13
type of nails were not going
2:14
to see any rust marks running
2:15
down your beautiful fence, we
2:18
use appearance, great western
2:19
red cedar. So it’s an
2:20
appearance of a type of wood
2:23
and also on our gates. We
2:23
upgrade all of our gates with
2:25
4 by 6 post and our hardware
2:26
on those gates.
2:27
>> you know, when i said that
2:31
when you drive down the
2:31
street, look at fencing. You
2:32
can really tell the difference
2:34
craftsmanship. I mean,
2:35
unfortunates always and
2:37
shipped. But it can also be
2:38
installation. I think a lot of
2:39
people think, oh, i’m gonna
2:40
get the best stuff. But then
2:41
they come out. Maybe it takes
2:43
longer where it doesn’t take
2:43
as long as maybe it should
2:44
have to get done that kind of
2:48
thing. When we talk about the
2:48
supply side of business, it’s
2:50
not been real easy when it’s
2:51
come to supply chains has it.
2:53
let’s talk about that side of
2:54
the business and how you work
2:57
within that.
2:58
>> you know, due to covid, we
2:59
had to find other supply
3:00
chains. So we see i started
3:02
dealing with mills out of
3:04
canada. So now we do it
3:05
through different bills. So
3:06
we’ve become a supplier. So
3:07
now we sell to the do it
3:09
yourself or and we also
3:09
supplied to the smaller
3:13
contractors. So everything in
3:14
our yard is give will mention
3:14
is all appearance grade we
3:15
don’t use. Great because we
3:17
buy it at such a discounted
3:18
price for don’t go to local
3:19
supplier. So we’re able to
3:20
pass it on to our customers.
3:22
and so we we sell seed or
3:23
about 20% less. Then.
3:28
>> anybody else? I let just
3:28
took it upon yourself to say,
3:29
ok, we’re going to switch this
3:31
up. We don’t like the way this
3:32
is done. We’re going to do it
3:35
ourselves. So you kind of turn
3:36
the tables a little bit and
3:37
said, alright, we’re going to
3:38
find the best products and
3:39
we’re going to sell to the
3:39
people that needed as well
3:42
when it comes to projects.
3:43
eyes are just thinking about
3:45
this because as i look at
3:45
these beautiful sense, is that
3:46
different projects you guys
3:49
have had some of residential
3:49
some look much bigger that.
3:51
you take on all sizes. We do.
3:56
we do.
3:56
>> so we started out
3:57
residential started doing h
3:58
ways and different programs
3:58
like our different projects
4:00
like that. Now we started
4:01
doing a lot more commercial
4:03
work. So we’ve recently
4:04
completed some big jobs for
4:04
domino’s cook dominoes,
4:06
corporate. We do security,
4:09
perimeter, fencing. And we
4:09
also started a deck divisions.
4:11
so now our goal is to do 30
4:13
decks this year and we’re well
4:14
on our way. So i love yes,
4:17
decks that something else. But
4:17
this is the time for that. My
4:20
husband and i were just
4:20
talking about texas is if you
4:21
read my mind next and then
4:22
sing and gates as well,
4:22
because a lot of times you
4:24
have those fences, but you
4:25
need a way to stop are open
4:26
and close to get through that.
4:29
>> talk about the fact that
4:29
you do these are actually some
4:30
automatic gates to that. You
4:32
guys been stalled. That’s not
4:33
that doesn’t sound like that’s
4:33
an easy no, it’s not. We’re
4:38
grateful to be able to do it.
4:38
but there’s a lot of cool
4:39
facets that come with
4:40
automated gate. So whether
4:40
it’s residential application.
4:41
>> whether it’s commercial
4:45
application, you can’t key
4:46
fobs that walk you when you
4:47
can have keypads outside of
4:47
your gate where people can key
4:49
n there’s even a new feature
4:51
where you can put a wi-fi call
4:52
box on your keypad. So when
4:53
someone presses the number to
4:55
dial you on the keypad, it
4:56
actually cause your cell
4:59
phone. You can press the
5:00
number 9 if you want to let
5:01
him in game and actually let
5:02
them in. Look at the
5:02
technology we have.
5:07
>> guess i’ve learned so much
5:07
coming in today. We appreciate
5:08
having remind folks, all you
5:09
have to do
5:12
>> go ahead and trust the
5:13
fencing company that will
5:14
build fence like it is their
5:15
own integrity. Fencing in
5:16
supply company is offering.
