At Integrity Fencing, safety isn’t just another item on a checklist. It’s one of the core values that guides everything we do. From the first post we set to the final gate adjustment, we believe every employee deserves to return home safely at the end of each workday.
That is why we’re excited to recognize a major milestone for our Safety & Compliance Manager, Christina, who recently earned her OSHA 30 certification.
Building a Stronger Safety Culture
As Safety & Compliance Manager, Christina’s role goes far beyond keeping up with regulations.
“The main meaning it has for me is that our employees and customers stay safe and that the company remains in good standing with all regulations. It’s important to me that the leaders of Integrity Fencing lead by example, making safety a priority so that everyone returns home safe at the end of the day.”
Although Christina is not out in the field with our installation crews every day, she is committed to staying connected with the people who make our work possible. One of her goals is to begin monthly job site visits to ensure safety protocols are being followed while building relationships with our crews.
“I enjoy building trust with our employees and understanding the challenges they face so I can help them work safely without slowing them down.”
An Unexpected Career With a Meaningful Purpose
Safety was not always the path Christina expected to take.
Before joining Integrity Fencing, she spent her career working in higher education. Her naturally cautious and detail oriented mindset, along with her desire to help others, made the transition into safety and compliance a natural fit.
“I never planned on doing this type of work. However, due to my cautious and detailed nature, I sort of fell into the position. I enjoy looking out for others, and I want to help make a difference in protecting our employees.”
Earning OSHA 30 Certification
Completing the OSHA 30 course represents an important investment, not only in Christina’s professional development, but also in the safety of every employee at Integrity Fencing.
“It feels like a great accomplishment. I’m excited to apply what I learned to help strengthen Integrity Fencing’s safety program. The OSHA classes gave me confidence and helped me develop a plan to operate at the highest level of safety standards that we can.”
One lesson stood out above all the rest.
“Most workplace injuries are preventable when hazards are recognized and addressed early. Just taking a few extra minutes at the start of the day can make a huge difference in preventing injuries and keeping our employees safe.”
Christina also believes safety programs are much more than paperwork.
“Safety rules may look like paperwork, but they are really tools to help protect people. The OSHA certification helped me understand why these rules exist and how to apply them in real world situations.”
Looking Ahead
Now that she has earned her OSHA 30 certification, Christina’s focus is on creating a workplace where safety becomes part of the company culture instead of simply meeting compliance requirements.
“I would like to move safety beyond compliance and make it part of our culture as a company. I would like all our employees to see safety as a shared responsibility, not just a requirement. I would like a culture where everyone is actively looking out for each other.”
When asked for one piece of advice every person on a job site should remember, her answer was simple.
“If something doesn’t feel right, stop and speak up.”
It is a reminder that safety starts with every individual and that speaking up can prevent injuries before they happen.
Outside of Work
When Christina is not helping keep Integrity Fencing safe and compliant, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, traveling, volunteering in ministry, and making memories with her grandchildren. She also enjoys staying active by going to the gym, practicing yoga, relaxing at the lake, and treating herself to an occasional massage.
