As our company continues to grow, so do the size and scale of projects we are fortunate to take on. At Integrity Fencing, we work on projects ranging from a small deck at a house to a homeowners association perimeter fence to a large commercial property security fence. We enjoy each and every project, especially when they take place in our own backyard.
In this post we highlight two commercial fencing projects in Highlands Ranch and Morrison that used ornamental iron fencing. We’ll discuss the unique aspects that come with a commercial project versus a residential one.
The Process for Commercial Fencing Projects

Contracting and building for a commercial property requires a different process and more steps along the way. For example, take our recent fencing project in Morrison at the Red Rocks Ranch community splash park. This project was put out for public bid and the selected fencing contractor would work alongside Red Rocks Ranch commercial contractor, Golden Triangle Group. Integrity Fencing was awarded the competitive bid and then underwent the submittal process.
During the submittal process, the fencing contractor works with the commercial contractor to confirm materials, hardware, hinges, and other variable options. Any existing or potential hazards on site are identified and noted. Integrity Fencing offered a Value Engineered (VE) option, which saved the client some costs.
We focus on continued communication when working on all our projects, and especially with homeowners associations or commercial clients. We aim to foresee any challenges ahead of time and find solutions sooner rather than later. With Red Rocks Ranch, we attended weekly meetings, weeks before the project start, with the commercial contractor attendant on site. This way we could help ensure that surprises didn’t arise. These meetings taught us that we needed to exercise caution when digging fence posts due to buried electrical and drainage components. We hand dug the holes for the fence posts to avoid those components.
A few challenges that can arise with a commercial project include waiting on materials from the commercial contractor, change orders, multiple crews from multiple companies, PPE requirements, and OSHA visits. There are always variables on a commercial job. We anticipate the challenges and work with the client to tackle them.
Iron Fencing Provides Security at Community Splash Park

Red Rocks Ranch chose Ameristar ornamental iron fencing in the three-rail, six-foot, flat-top option with corona rings between the first and second rail. The rings provide a unique and polished look. The project goals included enclosing the splash park while still providing visibility through the fence, installing a security gate with keypad, adding an egress panic bar, and matching the look of fencing in the neighborhood.
We custom-built the entrance gate in our machine shop. It has wire mesh to prevent someone from reaching around and unlocking it from the outside. The gate has a keypad for secure access and an egress panic bar on the inside.
We are proud to say we built this fence for Red Rocks Ranch, a neighborhood meaningful to Integrity Fencing owners.
Building a Quality Commercial Fence—Fast

The next project in the Integrity Fencing neighborhood was for the Highlands Ranch Metro District Senior Center. The District needed a fence around the front of their building, and because the area was already nicely landscaped, it was important that the contractor not disturb the landscaping when installing the fence. Efficiency was also important to this client.
Ornamental iron fencing was chosen for this project because it is maintenance-free, no staining required due to its finished powder coat, and it provides visibility through the fence. Iron fences create boundaries, not privacy, which is typically desired by commercial properties. Ameristar prefab iron fencing is American-made; another reason it’s a popular choice.
A modification on this project included bolting the fence to the concrete retaining wall. While working closely with the District construction manager, we completed the project in a day and a half, meeting the client’s desire for efficiency.
