Deck Staining

We’ve stained hundreds of decks in the metro area. You can be confident you will get an outstanding, lasting result from our team. 

Staining your deck is highly recommended within 30 days of installation. A quality deck stain will increase the life of your deck, and improve comfort. Staining reduces expansion and contraction that contributes to wear over time.

A semi-transparent stain will allow some of the natural wood grain to show through, while a solid stain will not. Sometimes it’s best to use solid stains for older decks that have multiple surface imperfections.

Wood decks turn gray over time due to a surface layer of mold and mildew growth. In this case we must first carefully clean and sanitize the surface prior to applying stain. This will restore the appearance of your wood. We then allow the deck to dry for 24-48 hours and apply stain like we would to a new deck.

In dry, temperate weather, we recommend waiting 24 hours before walking on your deck. It’s best to not move furniture back on the deck for 48 hours.

Stain and sealers don’t always adhere well to one another. We always recommend having our team strip the old finish in preparation for staining your deck.
