On Saturday November 11, staff at Integrity Fencing & Supply Co. weren’t outside building fences and decks as usual. Instead, they were volunteering their time for their community and helping to make a difference for those experiencing homelessness. David Clifton Ministries held a Thanksgiving outreach event near Denver City Hall for the 28th year.

People experiencing homelessness in Denver gathered for a community-wide event in honor of the Thanksgiving holiday and received food boxes, clothing items, free haircuts, and bike repairs. This year 2,349 people were given a meal, and 63 haircuts were given. This previously annual event was put on hold during the pandemic years and this was its first year back. As people learn that the event has returned, more are expected each year. The hosts and participants want to reach as many people as possible.

According to the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative, the number of people who became homeless in metro Denver for the first time rose to almost 4,000 people in 2023; a nearly 52% increase from 2022.

Integrity Fencing, a corporate sponsor of the event, helped with event setup, food service, and bike repairs. It was a heart-warming way to spend a Saturday, and a team event that the staff will not soon forget.
